Cathy Moore is one of my favourite edubloggers. She always writes interesting and more importantly highly practical posts about teaching and learning online, with a particular focus on simplifying content to maximise communication.
This post discusses work that she has done recently in developing a simulation designed to develop cultural awareness in American military personnel in Afghanistan. The way that she tweaks conventional dialogue tree based scenarios by adding discussion of the relative merits of presented options as well as asking the learner to justify their decisions is great.
