Course Builder Checklist – Google course-builder

Google’s entry in the LMS(?) market has met with some understandable interest in edublogTweetosphere and I’ll certainly be taking a look at it when they run their next course on PowerSearching with it starting on 24 September.

Browsing their wiki for the tool however, one particular phrase leapt out at me:

To use Course Builder, you should have some technical skills at the level of a web master. In particular, you should have some familiarity with HTML and JavaScript.

Now I’m sure that in a version or two, this will be all automated and wysiwyg’ed (what you see is what you get – web page design without knowing code) but for now, this says to me that only the most earnest of early adopter teachers are going to be jumping on board.
