Machinima As A Teaching and Learning Tool for MOOC

Jessie Chuang makes a good case for using machinima (animations build using computer games) to create resource (and other) videos in teaching practice. She highlights some particularly interesting examples – subject overview, student assignment work unit procedures etc.

My one small niggle with this is that machinima can be a little complicated for average teachers to produce, which is why I tend to get them started in online animation creation sites like xtranormal and Go!Animate, which both shorten the production process significantly with the use of text to speech tools.
